Paul Maclennan brings over 35 years of expertise in the manufacture of infrared optics and laser beam delivery systems to Nirvana Optical Solutions. 

A London University graduate in business economics, Paul began his career in 1984 at Davin Optical from where he moved to STC’s optical thin film coating facility before transitioning to leadership roles in the field with Belgian multi-national company Umicore in the early 2000s.

Following a leading involvement in the acquisition of a business unit from Umicore, Paul gained further experience as a shareholder and director at ULO Optics and LBP Optics. Paul has consistently demonstrated his skill in guiding IR companies into sustained growth. He successfully led two further company acquisitions, tripling the turnover of LBP Optics in just five years. Known for his outstanding networking skills and deep industry knowledge, Paul has a proven track record in managing optical engineering companies and achieving sustained business growth.

With an MBA from the University of Hertfordshire, John Botfield is a highly respected name in the UK infrared market.

John’s experience includes serving as Managing Director of Umicore Marketing Services UK Ltd and Marketing and Sales Director at Photonic Sense GmbH, giving him extensive knowledge of the global thermal imaging market and the infrared raw materials supply chain.
